About Znojmo

The town of Znojmo lies in the very south of Moravia, near the border with Austria, and is the second largest town in the South Moravian Region. The town of Znojmo is one of the oldest towns in the Czech lands, with the first mentions dating back to the 8th century. Discover Znojmo, a town rightly described as the pearl of South Moravia.

The historical heart of the town rises above the Dyje River valley, which connects the town with the Podyjí National Park, a place where history breathes and the surrounding nature enchants you. A destination for many hikers, cyclists and, more recently, boaters.

Discover its romantic nooks and crannies, one of the largest underground labyrinths in Central Europe, or the precious Rotunda of St. Catherine, enjoy the unique views from the town hall tower or from one of the viewpoints in the Podyjí National Park, enjoy the beauty of the Dyje River and the fertile vineyards, and enjoy moments of relaxation on the nearby Vranov Dam. Above all, it is the history and the proximity of the national park that make Znojmo an attractive place worthy of visitors’ attention.
